Our PSA (Parent & Staff Association) is truly remarkable, in the space of a few short weeks they organised a very successful raffle with all the hampers so beautifully displayed, arranged refreshments after the Junior Carol Concert, the sale of DVDs for the Infant Nativity and finally a marvellous school disco. As a school we are very appreciative of all their hard work.
Money raised from the Christmas raffle £250 and DVD’s £80 so far. Well Done to All
The school disco was a rip-roaring success and the children’s dancing and singing of pop songs was a joy to see. Gary Coutinho made an excellent DJ ably helped by Miss Sophie who encouraged the children in their dancing. The children wore glow bands and danced energetically to Gangnam Style and Macarena. A surprise visit by Santa, who also joined in the dancing!
The pantomime was well received “Scroogical” based on The Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. The children sang, cheered and booed the actors. I am surprised we were not deafened by the noise. The children joined in enthusiastically with the dance moves, demonstrated by the actors.
The children and staff enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch –the hall was very festive with staff and children either wearing Christmas jumpers or festive colours. Crackers were pulled, crowns put on and jokes read out to the merriment of all.
The Junior Carol Concert was a lovely and thought provoking service , giving us time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Our special thanks must go to Mr Rowe for ensuring the children sang so marvellously, Mr Bramley for the music, the choir, narrators, the djembe drummers and our marvellous brass band and violinists for their pre concert performance. All the children and staff worked tirelessly to produce such amazing performances. Thanks also to the PSA for the refreshments in school afterwards. A wonderful evening.
The children have certainly enjoyed the last few weeks of term. Starting with the Infants and their wonderful performance of ‘Angel Express’. The Infant Nativity, after practising, learning their lines, the carols and dance routines “Angels Express” was a resounding success with the children reading, acting and singing with much gusto and enthusiasm. A special mention must also be made for the narrators and the angels.

The Choir have been performing at Carols on the Green on Monday 5th December. A number of local schools and organisations attended the event including Sedgehill School Orchestra who provided excellent accompaniment to the carols. Our choir have worked hard under the guidance of Mr Rowe and sung clearly and beautifully. It was wonderful to be part of an event supported by the local community, The Mayor of Lewisham and Churches Together, including Father Sam.
Turn of the Year Concert at Blackheath Hall and then performing to their parents –such stamina and wonderful singing.
