The school is delighted to announce that we are proud parents of eight chicks, currently residing in a special “Brooder box” in the corridor. From the very first day the eggs were delivered there was a buzz of excitement and anticipation. Each morning when staff & children arrived they immediately popped in to check how things are going. Lots of questions and answers have generated a huge amount of lovely work, including displays, booklets and photographs. Children have also been busily naming the chicks. The children have had a great time talking and asking questions about the chicks. One of the highlights for the children has been having an opportunity to carefully hold the chicks.
Under a wonderful blue sky Sports Day got underway, the children arrived eager and ready to show their sporting prowess and skills. The children took part in a multitude of events: long jump, hurdles, bean bag throwing, shot putt, javelin, egg and spoon race, 3 legged race and a sprint. The Infants had house races by year group and the Juniors competed for fastest runner in their class. All the children had a great time and showed excellent sportsmanship. Congratulations to St Josephine (blue house) who won the Infant cup and St Francis of Assisi (yellow house) who won the Junior cup. A big thank you to parents who came along and supported the morning and to Miss McGuire and staff for ensuring the success of the day.
