Nursery Christmas Stay and Play

The Nursery children and their parents had fun at our Christmas Stay and Play.  We decorated biscuits and made lots of Christmas decorations to take home.  The children had made their own table covers for the occasion and decorated the Nursery.  We had also made Christmas biscuits which everyone enjoyed.  Thank you for coming and spending the morning playing with us.  Have a look at our photos.

Christmas arts and crafts.

The children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have been spending time in their house groups. They have been taking part in arts and crafts activities with their peers, this has given them a wonderful opportunity to spend time with each other and bond.

Over the past month the houses have met once a week and have made Christmas trees, snow globes, ice skates and Advent wreaths.

Our Trip to Horniman Museum

Year 6 went to the Horniman Museum to study the ancient kingdom of Benin. They attended an “Introduction to Benin” handling session where they could hold and touch replicas (copies of the ancient objects) made about 10 years ago in Benin City, in modern Nigeria. The children looked around the African Worlds, Music and Centenary Galleries discovering objects from the ancient kingdom of Benin.

Year 5 football tournament

The Year 5 boys were delighted to be invited to take part in a inter-school football tournament organised by Sedgehill School and the Fulham Football Academy.

9 teams entered the tournament which meant that each team had to play 8 games, each lasting 7 minutes.

St Augustine’s Team A won one match and drew one.

St Augustine’s Team B won five matches and drew one which meant that they were in third place overall. A well earned achievement.

In addition 3 medals were awarded: to Che for being a very versatile captain, playing in all positions and motivating his team to keep going, to Jenujan for scoring the most goals and to Samuel for his amazing goal keeping skills.

Christmas crafts

Year 4 spent a very creative DT  morning making Christmas cards in various styles. The children had to cut very precisely, measure , match and stick. They now have masterpieces to take home!

Many thanks to Mrs Lemard, Ms heath and Mrs Prioleau for arranging this wonderful morning.
