On Wednesday 30th October, 15 children across Years 5 and 6 took part in a Football Competition against Downderry Primary and St. Winifred’s Primary Schools. Organised in separate Boys’ and Girls’ teams, the children played their very best; tackling, defending, shooting and scoring. Their enthusiasm meant that the Boys won 1 – 0 to St. Winifred’s and managed to draw 4 – 4 against Downderry, with Melvin scoring 1 goal and David and Thomas scoring 2 goals each! Well done to Millie in Year 6 who scored for the girls. Giorgia and Isabella both did a great job rotating in goal.
Overall, the Girls’ team came third, with the Boys’ team taking 2nd Place. Congratulations to Alicja, Giorgia, Isabella, Kornelia, Layla, Millie, Suri and Zuzanna and to Curtis, David, Denzel, Melvin, Michael, Thomas and William. Also, a huge thank you to all the parents who turned up, cheering the children on!
We hope that the girls will use their developing skills and techniques to win in the girls’ tournament coming up in November.
