Thank you to all those children and families who have designed their posters for Black History Month. They will be put on display around the school. There is still time to bring them in as we will be celebrating Black History throughout the month of October.

Last week we have had an amazing uptake on children coming to school on their bikes and scooters. They can continue to do this from now on as we want to encourage our children to keep on being healthy and taking regular exercise. Please remind children to dismount form their bike or scooter inside the school premises.
We have also established an Equality Council, as another of our drivers is that of Equality and Justice, we strive to empower pupils to be advocates who address issues of prejudice and discrimination and ensure that at St. Augustine’s we value fairness and can resolve our differences through positive discussion. Mrs Cooper will be responsible for leading this group and will meet to discuss a range of topics that are of importance to our children.
One of our curriculum drivers is Environmental Responsibility; we will aspire to educate children about the need to protect God’s planet from environmental damage and create eco-friendly citizens who are aware of the impact of their actions on the wider world. Mrs Brady will lead this council who will meet regularly to discuss issues and will make our school a more eco friendly environment. If you have any ideas you wish to share please address them to Mrs Brady.
