Ofsted

A good school provides well for the needs of its pupils and prepares them effectively for the next stage of their education or employment. Schools rated as ‘good’ receive a one-day short inspection every three years, or a full inspection if the school’s performance has changed dramatically.

UNICEF Gold Award

We are very pleased to tell you that we have received our Gold Award which identifies that St. Augustine’s is embedding the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in its policy, practice and culture.

As a School community we are beginning to see the positive impact of these actions on children and young people, staff, and on the school’s ethos, practice and environment.

Children and young people are beginning to see themselves as rights respecting global citizens and advocates for fairness and children’s rights, both locally and globally.

School Games Gold Mark Award

We are delighted to announce we have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for 2022/23. This is a Government-led award scheme to reward and recognise school’s engagement in the School Games against a national benchmark and to celebrate keeping young people active.  We have been recognised for our success and extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of physical activity and school sport. Well done and thank you to Mrs Stoneham for her hard work and dedication.

Healthy School

St. Augustine’s School is a Healthy School and is recognised as such by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. We work with children and families to build an understanding of good health and wellbeing. All staff work hard to help our children develop healthy habits for life in both their mental and physical wellbeing. We offer children the chance to experience a wide range of sports and events as well as a strong PSHE curriculum developing resilience and an understanding of our mental health. Currently we hold the bronze award and are working towards silver and will then aim for gold!

Urban Synergy ‘ Outstanding School contribution Award

This award was presented to St. Augustine’s for their work with Urban Synergy, an award winning youth empowerment charity.  They work with young people aged 9-24 years of age, helping them to reach their full potential.  It focuses on support to build confidence through connections with aspirational role models and mentors from industry leaders.  We have had a number of mentors come and speak to the children about their roles, their career path and giving top tips on how to study at school and to be motivated in life,  to be in a better positon to achieve their individual potential.

St. Augustine’s has collaborated with Urban Synergy as we are keen to build an equitable environment where everyone is empowered to write their own future.  We were very pleased to receive this award and will continue our work in inspiring our children to make the most of all the opportunities that are available to them, in school, our community and the wider world.
