Classes
St. Augustine’s is a one form entry school meaning that we only have one Reception Class, one Year 1 class, one Year 2 class and so on. We can have up to thirty children in each year group.
Nursery is slightly different and we have twenty-six full time places or part time equivalents available. Children in Nursery and Reception Classes form our Early Years Foundation Stage known as the EYFS.
Children in Years One and Two form our Key Stage 1 cohort and children in Years Three, Four, Five and Six form our Key Stage 2 cohort.
In addition to their class teacher/s our classes all enjoy a range of support appropriate to the age of the children and the level of need within the class. Teaching Assistants work with individuals and small groups to support and challenge children. The teams of adults supporting classes at St. Augustine’s are highly skilled and dedicated.
