Equality Council

Our Equality Council 2023-2024

Our Equality Council works on the Unicef Rights Respecting Schools Award programme. The aim of this programme is to inform children of the articles within the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and help them to understand the importance of these within the context of their own lives but also in the lives of children around the world.

We are delighted that St. Augustine’s has been given the Bronze Award and we are now working on the Silver Award and putting our plan into action. Each week the article of the week is focused on and discussed in classes as well as being included in the Newsletter to allow families to discuss the information and ideas at home too. We are aiming to help inform the whole community about the importance of equality and opportunities for children here at St. Augustine’s and in countries all around the world. We wish to empower our children by educating them and encouraging them to speak out against inequality and injustice.
